Join the theatre-maker behind ‘Everything you ever wanted to know about everything … ever’. A silly, surreal and speedy sixty-minute hurtle through history.  As he brings elements of his theatre show to this fun workshop for kids, parents, adults, and anyone else who has a love of history and fun.

All participants play time-travellers at the beginning of time and in order to return to the present day you must perform a series of creative tasks to fuel our rocket ship, but we only have 60 minutes to do this in!

Your adventure will take in games, songs, creative tasks, and general silliness in this rip-roaring journey through time and space.

To join this workshop you will need Paper, Card, Newspaper, Colouring Pens, Sellotape, Tissue Paper and Loo Rolls (though not all essential)

Bio:

Ben trained as an actor at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and The National
Youth Theatre.  He is the creator of ‘The History Of Everything In 60 Mins’. Originally a one man comedy show, it completed a sell-out tour of the UK, including The Brighton Fringe Festival where it received rave reviews. Last summer, in collaboration with The Oxford Playhouse, it became a children’s comedy show, touring schools and underprivileged communities across Oxfordshire in a pop-up tent. It was a silly summer success, bringing theatre and family fun to over 6,000 people. A series of workshops also took place after each performance, one of which Ben is delighted to be doing for
Live Art Local.

His other theatre credits include appearing as the comic for the last 7 pantomimes at The White Rock Theatre in Hastings; Elwood in The Blues Brothers Party (UK Number 1 and Japan tours); James Mortmain in I Capture the Castle (Watford Palace/Bolton Octagon); The Jungle Book (Birmingham Stage Company); Who’s Harry? (Pleasance Dome, Edinburgh, Fringe First Winner); and Mrs Warren’s Profession (Theatre Royal Bath, directed by Sir Peter Hall); His film and tv credits include: In the Mix directed by Denis Lawson; Derek’s Thoughts (MOFILM winner, Cannes) and guest appearances on CBBC.

As a director, Ben has taken charge of numerous sketch shows. Most notably the Guinness book of records award-winning comedy show ‘Newsrevue’ in both London and at the Edinburgh Festival, where it made The British Comedy Guides top 25 shows. He is also the director for the annual Summer Youth Theatre Project at The White Rock Theatre, Hastings
