Poetry Workshops

As part of JUBILATION! We will be running a series of three poetry workshops for home educated children via ZOOM  These will run on 13th, 20th and 27th May at 10:30am

These workshops will take children on a journey through poetry, introducing them to various forms of poetry and different poets who have written about the Queen and about the legacy of the Empire and its effects on this country and also Commonwealth/former Commonwealth countries.

The children/young people will write their own poems, inspired by what they have learnt.  These will be showcased within SPACE Fareham, able to be viewed by local people as part of an exhibtion of work from the workshops.

These poems, and a selection from schools who feature in our schools project will be published in a poetry anthology to celebrate the jubilee.

Every child/young person who takes part will receive a copy of the poetry book and schools who take part will also receive a copy for their library.

Children who participate will gain an Arts Award Discover and will be able to use their work here to contribute to a higher level arts award.

To book onto these workshops please click the image below to be taken to the booking page on eventbrite.  Please note although this offers multiple dates you have to attend all 3 workshops as part of this

If we have not already made contact with you and your are a school interested in taking part please do contact us via beth@liveartlocal.co.uk
