Fareham Arts Festival
In 2015 Live Art Local created Fareham’s first-ever multiple location arts festival. Fareham Arts Festival took place over 9 days, spanning a 6-mile radius and twenty venues, featuring art, music, open-mic, theatre, film, and literature.
Over 50 artists, an art market, three theatre companies, solo-performers, bands, and singers covering everything from folk to hip-hop, cinema, an international short film competition judged by an Oscar nominee among others, ceramics, spoken word, and a literature day filled our program.
Live Art Local reached out to the council who allowed the use of Westbury Manor Museum for a Sculpture Garden, spoken word organisation, Apples and Snakes, Ashcroft Arts Centre (HCT), University of Portsmouth, Bursledon Brickworks, Hampshire Library Service, and music charity, Music Fusion who all contributed through events. As well as over 50 local businesses that allowed their premises to be used or who sponsored the event through programme advertising.
Funding was received from Fareham Borough Council, Hampshire County Council and the University of Portsmouth.
Considering our budget was less than £10k it was amazing what we managed to accomplish, including the printing of 2000 programs that were available for free around the borough.
