New Affiliate Artists Scheme

We are migrating our artist membership to our new affiliate artists scheme website offering more for artists than ever before………

The new Sticks Gallery Affiliate Artists Scheme

What does this mean for our current artists:

For our current artist members this means that you will be transferred over to our new artist only site over the coming week.  You will not need to register under our new system as owing to the changes we are making there will be changes to the cost and benefits.

As current members we will give you access to our new silver membership level for the amount you are currently paying on a weekly or quarterly basis.   We will continue to provide this better service at the reduced cost for the next year and on 15/1/17 you will be given the option to join up under our new scheme or have your membership terminated.

Those on a yearly subscription will need to do nothing until their current year ends.  They will then have the option to start a new subscription at the current rates and scheme

We have done this to provide more for artists and to also lessen the affect of the changes we are making on our current artist members.

From the time we migrate you over you will access everything via the affiliate artists sub site

http://affiliateartists.sticksgallery.co.uk

You will not need new login details, unless you have altered your password as we will migrate you over with the same details.  In order to make this as seamless as possible we may need to reset certain passwords but you will be able to change these again after the change over.

This is great news for artists as it means more, more help, more support and more opportunities.  On the new site have an opportunities wall that is updated with the newest opportunities from the art world; you can still enter our call outs for free; we have a new look artist listing on the sticks gallery main site which you can upload work and a statement to be on; we have changed the way meetups work and have now created bimonthly artist circle peer review groups and workshops enabling you to get the most out of your practice… and more.

We are also featuring a selected artist on the main Sticks Gallery website each month, featuring an interview and selected images, allowing a bigger audience to get to know you better.

Private View Thursday 10th Dec -- Work in Progress

What’s it about….?

This new show offers a chance for members of the public to see what goes on behind the creation of a piece of art.  It enables us to see the process of making art, and as this is the first in a series of exhibition detailing these emerging artists and their move into being artists out on their own, the progress they make on their work throughout their final year of study, culminating in their degree show to be held at Portsmouth University and in London next year.

The private view runs between 5:30-7:30pm this evening and all the artists will be on hand to discuss their work with you and answer any questions.  The Live Art Local CIC/Sticks gallery team will also be there to discuss and answer any questions you might have about us and what we plan for the future.

There will also be free food and drink and if we can make them in time lovely homemade mince pies and mulled wine to get you in the festive spirit!

Don’t know where sticks is, don’t worry, you can find us in the Fareham Shopping Centre at Unit 79a just inside opposite Millets

Can’t make the preview don’t worry we are open every Thursday – Saturday 10:30 am – 3pm

Christmas Art Market Locks Heath

Christmas Art Market Locks Heath

Rainy Weather…………………

On Saturday 28th November we held our Christmas Artist-Maker market at Locks Heath Shopping Village.  Sadly due to the weather and our offer to participating artists of a refund if they decided not to come owing to the weather we were down considerably on our original number of artists and makers.

Still that is all part of being British and our weather.  We will be back in 2016

New Opportunity — Christmas Artist-Maker Market spaces available

CHRISTMAS ARTIST-MAKER MARKET

This November we are once again holding an arts market at Locks Heath shopping village.  On Saturday 28th November we invite you to join us in the celebrations that lead to the shopping village’s Christmas Lights Switch on.  There is bound to be a big crowd that day as the shopping village are pulling out all the stops to guarantee a successful event.

As with the Summer Art Market we will only be accepting high calibre work; we believe it is not fair to anyone to accept lower quality work.  But if you are an artist, maker, designer, or upcycler we want to hear from you!!!

As part of our ethos we do not charge the large amounts of other art markets (it may be a long wait until our gazeebos are paid off!) as we want to bring great work to the masses and to enable artists and creatives to better make a sustainable living from what they do that doesn’t happen if you are paying out more for a pitch than you are likely going to make.  It is therefore again we are only charging low prices for a place.

Live Art Local members will only be required to pay £5 for a spot if they own a gazeebo and £10 if they do not and require one to be provided.

Non-members will be asked to pay £15 if they own a gazzebo and £20 if they require one.

All artists and creatives are invited to join Live Art Local.  To find out more about joining visit http://liveartlocal.co.uk/get_your_art_seen/.

We will be publicising the market from the beginning of November and will have 2 large banners on the day to guide people and make them aware of the event.

This is a FREE entry artist and makers market as part of a larger event.

Please fill out this form if you are interested in securing your place at this event

I'd like to have a stall at the art market

This exhibition looks at the concept of surveillance, we’ve all had that feeling that we are being watched and with a plethora of cameras out there we are probably being secretly recorded; but who is watching us and what and who are we watching?

Pieces from the exhibition are available to purchase.

The exhibition is open every day except Sunday
